Vesta is a small lightweight BLDC servo in the footprint of a Nema 14 pancake motor. This motor is able to reach speeds upwards of 3,000 RPM with 100 mNm of torque output all in a 50g package!
Vesta is not a normal motor. This motor uses a concept called closed loop control, where sensor feedback is used to drive the motor to a position and monitor performance to ensure stability. This allows us to use motors that are not normally position controllable (like brushless motors) and allows the integrated motor driver to detect errors and send a signal to the printer to pause until the error is corrected.
